Dallas Wiens receives face transplant in Boston

Many of our readers will remember the tragic yet inspiring story of Dallas Wiens. In 2008, through a horrible accident, Dallas was severely burned on his face, as recounted in this blog post.

MSNBC.com has been reporting (here and here) that Dallas underwent a 15-hour face transplant surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. While it’s too early to report on the results on the surgery, Dallas has been hoping for the day when he could receive a new face.

If you would like to help support Dallas’ recovery, donations are welcome at dallaswiens.com.
